I have seen the fictional family and it is mine.
And my native-Californian girlfriend's. And my Alabama-raised co-worker's. And that of my college roomate from Detroit.
The beauty of ``Soul Food,'' the movie has been promoted for the last month on BET and opened last week nationwide, is that it portrays a family that has a bit of us all in it. There among the the plot twists, triumphs and tragedies is something to which everyone can relate.
Even though ``Soul Food'' opened in about half as many theaters as ``The Peacemaker,'' Soul Food drew crowds so large that it ran a close second in box office earnings.
