Apr 20, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The IT sector has warned the Australian Government about the impact of its spending cuts. The May 2009 Budget will include large reductions in IT spending, with cuts of $A150 million expected in 2009-10. The IT industry is concerned that the cuts will affect service levels at agencies such as Centrelink. The cost-cutting could also cause the loss of jobs and the closure of businesses in the IT industry.
