It might be cliched to say that our history makes us who we are, but in a country like Canada, where we often feel uneasy discussing past conflicts, it can sometimes seem simpler to avoid the past. Rudyard Griffiths, author of the new book Who We Are: A Citizen's Manifesto, is firmly in the camp of those who believe we do so at our own peril.
