CHARLOTTE -- The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) has announce additional cost saving measures including reducing staff, temporarily suspending pay for the Memorial Day holiday and cutting service on selected weekend bus routes. CATS officials say they will eliminate up to ten City employee positions across all levels of the organization, freeze 39 CATS/City positions, end all non-critical travel, reduce marketing expenses and delay anticipated purchases.
