The second phase of Formosa Plastic Group's petrochemical project--a refining and ethylene complex in Ningbo--is now on agenda, following the completion of its first phase at the end of 2008. The Ningbo government is pushing forward the pre-construction work and expects to start the second phase construction soon.
The Formosa Ningbo Phase I includes nine projects--seven petrochemical projects and two matching ones--a 300 000 t/a PVC plant, a 450 000 t/a ABS facility, a 160 000/200 000 t/a acrylic acid/acrylic ester unit, a 200 000 t/a polystyrene plant, a 600 000 t/a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant, a 450 000 t/a polypropylene facility, a 30 000 t/a super ...
