The Spiral Duct Manufacturers Association used its Jan. 25 winter meeting to hand out awards, name new board members and hear about the advantages round holds over flexible ductwork.
In his presentation, "Keeping Spiral Duct on Top," Chris Van Rite of M&M Manufacturing Co. told SPIDA members, "There are many things out there that try to replace spiral duct." However, he added, they don't approach the efficiency levels offered by spiral duct.
That doesn't keep many contractors from using alternatives such as flex duct, however, he said.
