Apr 23, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Aviva and Axa Asia Pacific have both declined to comment on speculation regarding the potential sale of the former's Australian arm. Axa has been touted as a likely bidder should Aviva opt to divest its Australian business, which formerly traded as Norwich Union Australia. Aviva boasts over 500,000 customers in Australia and $A19.2bn worth of assets under management.
