COLUMBIA, MD.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 8, 1997--Martek Biosciences Corporation (NASDAQ: MATK) of Columbia, MD, announced today that the General Nutrition Center (GNC) chain began selling Neuromins(TM) DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid essential for brain and mental function, in many of its retail outlets nationwide. GNC is carrying Neuromins(TM) under the Nature's Way label. GNC is the largest natural products chain in the U.S. with approximately 3000 stores.
