Ichthyosis is a congenital abnormality of the skin characterized by dryness, harshness, and fish-like scales. This young woman has been a patient in our office most of her life. She is a sweet girl who I am lucky to know. She graciously offered to tell her story to help dermatology clinicians understand her life with ichthyosis.
When were you diagnosed with your disease/condition?
My name is Dasalitha, or Daisy. I am 32 years old with a rare skin disorder called lameller ichthyosis which covers my whole body. Ichthyosis is a skin disorder which causes the formation of dry fish-like scales of the skin's surface. This started in infancy. Ichthyosis causes ...
