1 Scope of Method
1.1 Target Organisms
Salmonella species.
1.2 Matrixes
The following food groups were evaluated: raw chicken, raw ground beef, raw fish, lettuce, and raw eggs.
1.3 Summary of Validated Performance Claims
The sensitivity and specificity from the external method comparison testing was 100%. The performance of BBL CHROMagar Salmonella (CS) agar is comparable to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recommended reference methods media (1) for the selective isolation and detection of Salmonella species from the food matrixes tested.
