In commemoration of November 25, International Day Against Violence Against Women, the Latin American and Caribbean Women's Health Network promoted a three-year campaign from 2005 to 2007 identify the different forms of violence against women and girls in both public and private spheres and to denounce the consequences that this violence has on their comprehensive health.
Since 1996, LACWHN's November 25 campaigns have been based upon the following key concepts:
* Women have the right to live free from violence. Violence against women is a violation of their basic human rights.
