Afsan Chowdhury April 25 (Dhaka Courier) -- The war crimes tribunal issue is progressing well it seems as the government has announced that investigators and prosecutors will be announced within a short time. One hopes that the government is on a firm ground and knows that a credible trial is possible. It will be a major contribution to the strengthening of the national identity. It will also dust away at least some of the confusions on the meaning of patriotism, betrayal and brutality surrounding the history of 1971.
The government has also said that it will not be a 'massive trial' involving thousands but that 'identified' war criminals will be tried. This has ...
