Vegetable grower and packer Albert Bartlett has unveiled plans to expand its branded business on the back of improved profits and turnover.

The company reported turnover up 14% to 165m [pounds sterling] for the 12 months to 31 May 2008, in the wake of the takeover of packer Naturally Best the previous year. Pre-tax profits also rose from 4.1m [pounds sterling] to 6.5m [pounds sterling].

Bartlett said it had begun work on a new packing facility in Jersey to expand its Rooster Potatoes business.
