PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Oct. 10--The giant corporation that plans to buy Landmark Medical Center hopes to create a two-state health-care network that will serve patients from Woonsocket to Worcester, Mass., its officials said yesterday.
But Tenet Healthcare Corp. also says it believes health care is a uniquely local concern, so that running Landmark in Woonsocket will be different than its operation of some 130 other hospitals from California to North Carolina.
"You can't necessarily apply the specific solutions you used in Miami, in Woonsocket," said W. Randolph Smith, Tenet's executive vice president. "There are probably things you learned from ...
