Oct. 11--McKesson Corp. will end a 95-year presence in Cedar Rapids Dec. 12 when it closes its pharmaceutical distribution center at 915 32nd Ave. SW.
McKesson informed the center's 50 employees earlier this week of the planned closing, saying it needed to consolidate distribution facilities in the wake of acquisitions earlier this year. The company plans to serve customers of the Cedar Rapids center from facilities in Omaha, Neb.; Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo.; Chicago and La Crosse, Wis.
