NEW YORK -- Different retail channels attract different types of brides, but specialty stores have the greatest crossover appeal, according to a recent survey by market research firm NPD.
"They're in a good position because they kind of appeal to everyone" with their good-better-best assortments, said John Block, director of consumer research at NPD Home.
The so-called practical bride, budget-conscious and more traditional in her views, prefers mass merchants, as does the eclectic bride, who has a more individual style but is also saving for a first home.
