On February 12, the first Ghana hunting licenses were issued by Nana Kofi Adu-Nsiah, executive director of the Ghanaian Forestry Commission (Wildlife Division), to safari outfitter Steve Kobrine, professional hunter Ian "Tweek" Roodt, Katharina Hecker (daughter of Anno Hecker, the author of Cest l'Afrique), and me. The first trophy hunting safari in living memory in Ghana was about to begin and we had licenses for royal antelope, black and Maxwell duikers, harnessed bushbuck, and brush-tailed porcupine.
