Construction firm Carillion has won an [pounds sterling]80m contract from Network Rail to build the new stations on the Airdrie-Bathgate rail line.
The company will construct stations at Armadale and Caldercruix as the final stage of work to complete a missing link in Scotlands rail network between Bathgate and Drumgelloch gets underway this spring.
Carillions remit includes the provision of new structures, stations, earthworks, ground treatment and filling operations up to ballast level, leading up to the scheduled opening of the new rail link towards the end of 2010. The company will also upgrade Drumgelloch station.
