WORCESTER - The Worcester Center for Crafts took a giant step from the brink yesterday when the Worcester State College board of trustees voted to pursue an educational alliance with the struggling arts institution.
Details of the initiative are still being worked out and the Worcester State Foundation, the main funding arm of the venture, won't take up the measure until its meeting Tuesday. But if it passes the foundation hurdle, plans will go forward to move the college's art program out of an overcrowded gym building on campus and into the craft center facility at 25 Sagamore Road.
