PARSIPPANY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1997--DRS Technologies, Inc. (ASE:DRS) announced today that it has been competitively awarded, through its DRS Electronics Systems, Inc. subsidiary in Gaithersburg, Md., a multi-year contract with an initial maximum value of $14.2 million from the U.S. Navy to provide AN/SPS-67 radar systems, engineering support and associated installation kits.

The radar systems produced under this contract will be deployed on board the Navy's new DDG-51 Aegis class ships, the most technologically advanced in the Navy's surface fleet. Future contracts for additional AN/SPS-67 radar systems for installation on new aircraft carriers ...
