Investors' short but intense love affair with commercial property came to an abrupt halt with the onslaught of the credit crunch. The size and severity of the commercial property bubble caught everyone by surprise - with perceptions of property as a 'safe' investment, less volatile than shares and uncorrelated to the broader market, shattered overnight.
