Franklin Dohanyos' skills essentially are limited to writing and selling. Furthermore, he has no creative staff, only one full-time employee, and he runs his small public relations firm from his Royal Oak home.
But when Dohanyos pitches prospective clients on Franklin Publicity's merits, he rattles off a litany of services he can provide, including video production, graphic design, photography and printing.
Dohanyos' company can offer such an array because, like many small-business owners, he has discovered that his services, clientele and, eventually, his sales all can be expanded through the well-planned, well-managed use of independent contractors.
