DOUGLAS BRENNER: I'm surprised that this easygoing old Yankee Farmhouse has such a strong French accent. How did that happen?
TOM SCHEERER: I feel like I've been busted, since I've said before that I couldn't imagine myself doing French Country. In the United States, French stuff usually comes across as pretty false. But in this ease, it happened naturally. Both the husband and wife come from a long line of Francophiles. She inherited a lot of French furniture, and his mother gave them French furniture as a wedding present. So it's part of their patrimony--and matrimony.
