NEW YORK -- Fitch Ratings has affirmed the international scale local currency insurer financial strength (IFS) rating of El Pacifico Vida Compania de Seguros y Reaseguros' (Pacifico Vida) at 'BBB-'. Fitch revised the Rating Outlook to Stable from Positive. Despite the adequate operating performance of the company during 2008 and 2009, the Outlook revision is explained by the challenging investment environment that the insurance industry is confronting since last year which may limit its historic above average profitability in the medium term.
