FIIs hold Sensex near 12k mark; buy Rs 508 cr shares

Mumbai, May 5 (PTI) Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) today continued their heavy buying trend and invested a net Rs 508.51 crore in the Indian equity market, holding the BSE's benchmark index above the 12,000-level.

FIIs were the gross buyer of shares worth Rs 2,862.56 crore, whereas they sold stocks worth Rs 2,354.05 crore resulting in a net buy of Rs 508.51 crore, the provisional data available with the Bombay Stock Exchange shows.
