Article: Palace sees bright prospects for RP to clinch OIC observer status bid.

MANILA, May 6 (PNA) --- Press Secretary Cerge Remonde on Wednesday said there is bright prospect for the Philippines to clinch the observer status in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) after Egypt and Syria have expressed their willingness to support the country's bid.

Remonde said this was one of the accomplishments of the President's trips to the two of the most influential nations in the Arab World where she held bilateral meetings with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
