Painter said he never meant for widow to die, court hears
A PART-TIME painter charged with the murder of an elderly widow told detectives he "never meant for her to die", a court heard yesterday.
The revelation came as Oliver Hayes (49) of Clancool Terrace, Bandon, Co Cork, was formally charged with the murder of Anne Corcoran (60) in January.
Mr Hayes was making his sixth appearance before Bandon District Court after he was initially charged last February with the false imprisonment of Mrs Corcoran.
