Enterprise risk management remains the Holy Grail of risk management.
Interest in the discipline is on the rise, as was demonstrated as attendees at the recent Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc.'s annual conference in Orlando, Fla., flocked to sessions dedicated to the theory and practice of ERM. In fact, many risk managers say ERM is becoming mainstream, at least in some industries. And, say risk managers, the financial situation has fueled interest in viewing risk from a broader perspective.
