Swine flu worries translated to revenue for some local companies.
Jim Binson, president of Center Line-based medical supply retail chain Binson's Home Health Care, said his company sold out of a supply of more than 400 N-95 particulate respirator and surgical masks last Wednesday. That was the day Michigan health officials confirmed the first of two cases of the virus.
Binson's usual supplier, Minnesota-based 3M Co., was unable to ship a new batch early in the week after the federal government acquired its entire inventory so Binson scrounged for masks from wholesalers in Illinois and elsewhere. When they finally arrived ...
