DALLAS, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Tuesday Morning Corporation (Nasdaq: TUES), North America's largest operator of deep-discount closeout gift stores, today reported an improvement in its third quarter and first nine months 1997 operating results.

The Company reported net income of $2,907,000 ($0.24 per share) for the quarter ended September 30, 1997, versus net income of $698,000 ($0.06 per share) for 1996. Net income for the first nine months of the year was $5,366,000 ($0.43 per share) compared to $456,000 ($0.04 per share) in 1996.
