New, Delhi,. Ap -- Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party, a registered national unrecognised political party, today approached the Supreme Court to recall its order allotting common election symbol of 'railway engine' to Telugu filmstar Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam party, in Andhra Pradesh.
Senior Counsel Mukul Rohtagi mentioned the petition for urgent hearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan on the ground that the order of the court dated March 27 allotting the symbol to PRP will cause tremendous harm and prejudice to the petitioner party who has been contesting elections since 2007 on the same symbol.
