New, Delhi,. Ap -- The Supreme Court today took a serious note of the total lack of fire safety measures in schools across the country and directed that all schools should observe and implement National Fire Safety Norms to ensure the safety of school children against such incidents.
A Bench comprising Justices Lokeshwar Singh Panta and Mr Alveer Bhandari issued the directions on a PIL which was filed in the aftermath of an incident in which 400 small school children had died when fire broke out in Lord Krishna Middle School, Tamil Nadu.
