Bangalore, Apr. 4 -- In continued drive against power theft, pilferage and misuse, Special Inspection Teams and Vigilance Squads have booked cases against three installations including a Cool Drink house at Belgaum and two Flour Mills at Athani and Manvi, and imposed a penalty of Rs 4.73 lakhs on them.
According to a release here, Hubli Electricity Service Company (HESCOM), Belgaum Vigilance squad, during inspection, caught Cool Drink House at Peenwadi, Belgaum for committing power theft by by-passing the meter. A penalty of Rs 1,40,018 was imposed and a criminal case was booked against the owner.
