Lucknow, Apr. 16 -- Moderate polling was underway with an estimated 12 per cent of the total 2.49 voters having voted till 1030 hrs in 16 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh where polling began at 0700 hrs this morning.

''Polling was peaceful and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere,'' claimed the State Election Office and the police headquarters. ''Polling started on a dull note in the first hour but started picking after 0800 hrs,'' EC sources said. Voting in all the 16 constituencies would continue till 1700 hrs.

However a report from Deoria said that some miscreants tried to enter booth no -119 but timely intervention of the police ...
