In any technology as widespread and widely varied as mobile hydraulics, it's sometimes hard to see the forest for the trees. In one application, components A and B are used to achieve this purpose, while in another application, they do something entirely different. Yet there are certain general directions or drifts which many, if not all, applications hew toward. In order to pick up on trends in mobile equipment hydraulics, we need to focus on specific areas of the technology. Using the "functional sections" concept, as we have done in the past, is a useful way to do it. A glance at Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 will demonstrate.
