Despite the recession, green buying remains strong. More than two-thirds of consumers stated their buying habits were unchanged, according to a new poll conducted by HARRIS INTERACTIVE on behalf of SCA TISSUE NORTH AMERICA. About one-quarter even increased their purchase of green goods and/or services. When asked how the economy was affecting purchasing, 67% reported buying the same amount, 26% more and 8% less. When asked whether a restaurant or store who focused on being green would entice them or not, 49% said they would equally be inclined to visit despite distance and/ or extra effort.
