CRANSTON, R.I.--Nov. 3--Health insurance isn't as reassuring as it used to be.
Faced with skyrocketing costs, health-insurance companies have been cutting benefits, increasing co-payments, denying care, pressuring doctors to provide fewer services and raising rates.
Because of those problems, businesses -- especially small businesses -have been loath to provide any health insurance for their employees.
It's enough to drive you to depression -- assuming that you have pre-authorization for a major psychiatric illness.
