The UK Border Agency has responded to a newspaper article on trafficked children missing from local authority care, which was published yesterday.
A UK Border Agency spokesperson said:
"This is a very difficult issue, as children can be coerced or misled by unscrupulous people traffickers.
"We are having real success targeting the routes used by the criminals who prey on these vulnerable youngsters - a joint operation has seen 12 traffickers ...
