In a welcome change from the many Layoffs that have occurred throughout the woodworking industry recently, more than 600 jobs have been recalled or created by five woodworking companies.
Anderson Windows of Bayport, MN, announced that it will recall 180 of the 560 workers it laid off in January, due to an uptick in business in recent weeks. Anderson credits, at least in part, a tax break for installing more energy-efficient windows that is part of the federal stimulus package.
