Chromalloy announced that its joint venture company BELAC LLC has reduced the cost of its high pressure turbine engine blades by 9 percent.

The price reduction adds up to a savings of up to $300,000 per set of blades for commercial aircraft operators.

Chong Yi, president of BELAC LLC, says the savings will in turn translate into a significant reduction in overall maintenance costs for aircraft operators.

While the original equipment manufacturers continue to raise prices for these parts, BELAC has chosen to adjust our price structure down to reduce the cost to the customers, Yi says.
