Bahrain's importers must share some of the blame for the crippling traffic jams that have plagued the Saudi-Bahrain causeway, says a leading businessman.
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board member and customs committee co-chairman Abdulhakim Shammari also accused many firms of having an indifferent attitude towards the problem.
He said many importers depended on clearing agents, who do not work 24-hours a day, to help bring goods into the country which led to large consignments being stuck at the entry point to Bahrain on the King Fahad Causeway.
