Nov. 5--Commerce Bancorp of Cherry Hill, N.J., said Tuesday that it has agreed to buy Philadelphia-based A.H. Williams Inc., which specializes in raising money for state and local governments from South Jersey to San Francisco.
Under terms of the deal, Williams' Center City office and its branches in Pittsburgh, Boston, San Francisco, and Summit, N.J., along with its 42 employees, will become part of Commerce's smaller Commerce Capital unit, said Commerce chairman Vernon W. Hill 2d.
