DALLAS, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerald R. Heffernan has been named Chairman of the Board for TXI (NYSE: TXI). His election took place at the Board Meeting following the Company's annual shareholder meeting today.

Heffernan has served as a member of the Board of Directors for TXI since 1986. He is also a Director for Chaparral Steel Company and is President of Ontario-based G. R. Heffernan & Associates, Ltd.
