With availability this fall of the aftermarket version of CARiN, a Philips Car Systems product that was introduced by BMW for its 5 and 7 Series automobiles last year, vehicle navigation is set to grab its share of the hot automotive electronics market. Sales of vehicle navigation systems alone are expected to reach $3 billion by the year 2000.
