LONDON -- Hush Puppies has joined forces with British women's wear designer Clements Ribeiro to create a shoe line for spring-summer 1998 in an effort to elevate its fashion image in this country as it has in the United States.
The move comes as Stylo PLC, which recently acquired the Hush Puppies retail chain from British Shoe, struggles to improve the brand's performance at retail.
The designer tie-in is the second such arrangement the subsidiary of Wolverine World Wide Inc., Rockford, Mich., has had with a major fashion designer. The first, three years ago, was with American menswear designer John Bartlett. Bartlett's use of Hush Puppies in a range of ...
