NEW YORK, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has recommended that SmithKline Beecham Consumer Healthcare ("SBCH") modify television advertising for its Aquafresh Whitening Toothpaste to make a clearer distinction between SBCH's claims of superiority over Crest versus parity with Rembrandt. This portion of the NARB decision upholds a June 30, 1997 case decision by the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureau, Inc. in which NAD found certain claims substantiated, but requested that SBCH avoid the implication of superiority where it is not justified.
