Nov. 13--Enron Corp. insisted Wednesday that its promise to double Peco Energy's proposed electric rate cuts was genuine, and offered modifications to its plan designed to allay doubts about its sincerity.
In testimony filed with the state Public Utility Commission, Enron modified its Oct. 7 proposal, in which it said it would cut rates by 20 percent beginning in September. Peco promised a 10 percent reduction during the same 28-month period in a deal with consumer advocates it announced in August.
