This Veterans Day will be another bittersweet occasion for the millions of brave Americans who fought to preserve freedom, democracy and liberty in World War II. For while the nation pauses that day to honor the service of all its military veterans, a national World War II Memorial to recognize the efforts of that generation remains to be seen.
No other single event of our history united so many people in a common cause. Yet fifty years after the war, there is no national memorial recognizing and honoring the sacrifice of those who served during the defining moment of the 20th century. Veterans of the more ...
