New, Delhi,. Ma -- Japanese electronic major Sony today said it plans to phase out its cathode ray tube (CRT TVs) and would invest Rs 60 crore for promoting its new range 'Bravia' in the current year, a move aimed at focussing more on the LCD segment.
''On last Diwali, we took the decision to stop production of CRT TVs and now, as Sony is focussing more on LCD screens, it will soon completely exit the CRT segment,'' Sony India Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa told reporters here today.
The company has already stopped production of CRT TVs and is in the process of exhausting the stock with dealers, he informed.
