Nov. 10--By year's end, Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. plans another attempt at obtaining approval of its diet pill, which failed to win government backing earlier this year after clinical trials revealed unexplained links to breast cancer.

"We're putting together the resubmission papers now and expect to submit them in the next few weeks," Patrick Zenner, the Nutley drug maker's chief executive, told The Star-Ledger. "We hope to have approval by the second quarter of next year."
